NOTES RE MUSICAL INSTRUMENT AMPLIFIERS
In our humble opinion the vocals should always be the reference for volume level
in any performing band or group. To determine power requirements for musical
instrument amplifiers, we can only say that 'as
a rule of thumb' we believe the Bass
amplifier power should be at least double that of the amplifiers used for say
lead guitar or keyboards.
We try to give builders a 'Skill requirement' rating by using
TERMS, BEGINNER,
to
MEDIUM, to
ADVANCED...
Of course there is nothing wrong with a beginner going for more ADVANCED
KITS, but in the worst case scenario replacement parts could be expensive.
SOME CONDITIONS OF KIT SALES:
1 - Purchase of Heatsink and Power supplies for all KITS
is OPTIONAL. This includes Transformers, Filter Capacitors and
Rectifiers.
2 - Normally CIRCUIT BOARDS will
only be provided with a full quota of Board components.
3 - Because of COPYRIGHT LAWS,
no artwork will be provided
for any P.C.B. Design.
4 - A
money back warranty applies for all KITS PROVIDED that the Kit has not
been damaged or Part assembled.
5 - Unless
Specifically requested, large type Chassis are not included in Kits.
6 - CONSIDERATION will always be
given to Special or Custom requests
from BUILDERS.

cost RATIO. BIPOLAR output.
The HQEF amps contain on-delay muting, DC speaker
protection, status display, integral overload protection, and a conventional
multislope overload protection circuit, as part of the main PC board. Thus,
the only other option that a user may desire is the optional soft-start
board. [Since all of these features are included in the main PC board, We
expect the HQEF amps to be a favourite among hobbyists who want to construct
musical instrument amplifiers, or hobbyists who want a compact, all-in-one
amplifier system for subwoofers.]
This kit is about 140W capable into 4 Ohms, has
'onboard' status, speaker protection and muting. Output devices = 2 x
Toshiba 2SA1943 + 2 x 2SC5200.
Typical rail voltage +/-56V.

10 watts doesn't sound much, but the late great
Buddy Holly did a lot with it. If
you need a practice or small stage amp, this is a good
choice. Features ultra-compact Vintage combo style, with two inputs,
Overdrive and
Treble enhancement.
We recommend the use of a 'Classic' speaker system for guitar,
using one or more speakers to make a
4 or 8 ohm load with a 20W
rating.
